Acceptable Use Policy

1 Purpose and scope

GreenHand (Pty) Ltd operates an online marketplace that connects South African homeowners ("Clients") with independent garden service professionals ("Gardeners"). This Acceptable Use Policy sets out what the Platform may and may not be used for. It applies to every Client, Gardener and visitor, and forms part of our Terms and Conditions.

By using GreenHand, you agree to use it only for lawful, garden-related purposes and in line with this policy.

2 Permitted use

GreenHand is a gardening-services marketplace only. It exists so that Clients can request, and Gardeners can quote for and perform, garden-related services, including:

• Lawn mowing, edging and general garden maintenance;
• Hedge trimming, pruning and tree work (including tree felling by suitably competent Gardeners);
• Landscaping, planting, irrigation installation and repair;
• Garden clean-ups, refuse and green-waste removal;
• Garden pest and weed control, carried out lawfully.

The Platform is intended for the arrangement and payment of these services and directly related materials only. It is not a general e-commerce, classifieds or money-transfer service.

3 Prohibited goods and services

You may not use GreenHand to advertise, request, offer, sell, pay for or facilitate any of the following. This list is not exhaustive:

• Any goods or services unrelated to gardening or garden care;
• Adult content, escort, dating or any sexually oriented services;
• Gambling, betting, lotteries or games of chance;
• Weapons, firearms, ammunition, explosives or dangerous devices;
• Illegal drugs, narcotics, or restricted or unregistered pesticides and chemicals;
• Alcohol or tobacco products;
• Financial, investment, lending, insurance or foreign-exchange services;
• Cryptocurrency, virtual currency or other digital-asset trading or exchange;
• Money transfer, remittance, "cash-out" or any use of the Platform primarily to move money between people;
• Counterfeit, stolen, smuggled or intellectual-property-infringing goods;
• Endangered or protected plants, wildlife or materials whose trade is restricted by law;
• Hazardous, toxic or environmentally harmful materials, other than ordinary garden chemicals used and disposed of lawfully;
• Any other goods or services that are illegal in South Africa or that require a licence the provider does not hold.

4 Prohibited conduct

When using GreenHand, you must not:

• Provide false, misleading or fraudulent information, or impersonate any person or business;
• Create fake accounts, fake reviews, or manipulate ratings, referrals or promotions;
• Use the Platform to launder money or to disguise the source or purpose of funds;
• Harass, threaten, defame or discriminate against any other user;
• Employ or arrange labour below the minimum legal working age, or engage in any unlawful labour practice;
• Send spam or unsolicited commercial messages to other users;
• Attempt to hack, disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, scrape or gain unauthorised access to the Platform or other users' accounts;
• Infringe any person's intellectual-property, privacy or other rights;
• Breach any applicable South African law in the course of using the Platform.

5 Payments and anti-circumvention

All payments for services arranged through GreenHand must be made through the Platform, so that funds are protected in escrow and released fairly. You may not:

• Arrange, request or accept payment off the Platform to avoid our fees, once a Client and Gardener have been introduced through GreenHand;
• Use the Platform's payment facility for anything other than genuine garden services and directly related materials;
• Attempt to obtain a refund, chargeback or escrow release by dishonest means.

Off-platform circumvention may attract the introduction fee set out in our Terms and Conditions.

6 Content standards

Any content you post, including job descriptions, photos, profiles, messages and reviews, must be accurate, lawful and your own to share. It must not be defamatory, hateful, discriminatory, obscene, or contain other people's personal information without their consent.

7 Enforcement and consequences

We take breaches of this policy seriously. Depending on the severity, GreenHand may:

• Remove or edit offending content;
• Withhold or reverse a payout, or hold funds in escrow pending investigation;
• Suspend or permanently terminate the account(s) involved;
• Report the matter to the South African Police Service or other authorities where the law requires or permits it.

These steps are in addition to any rights GreenHand has under the Terms and Conditions or applicable law.
