GreenHand is an online marketplace for garden services in Gauteng. Homeowners post a garden job at no cost, and verified local gardeners send quotes.
Who we are
GreenHand is run by GreenHand (Pty) Ltd, a South African company registered with CIPC under number 2026/578451/07 and based in Johannesburg.
We built GreenHand because finding a gardener you can trust usually means asking neighbours, and finding steady work as a gardener usually means knocking on doors. GreenHand puts both sides in one place, with identity checks, written quotes and Payment Protection on every job.
GreenHand is not the same business as Green Hands (greenhands.co.za), an unrelated garden service in Randburg.
What GreenHand does
For homeowners: post a garden job at no cost, compare quotes from gardeners near you, and book the one that suits you. Lawn mowing, garden refuse removal, tree felling, hedge trimming, landscaping, irrigation and regular garden maintenance.
For gardeners: joining costs nothing. Gardeners quote their own prices and keep 85% of every job they win. Open jobs are listed on Find work.
Where: Gauteng, including Johannesburg, Pretoria, Centurion, Midrand, Sandton, Randburg, Roodepoort, Benoni, Boksburg and Germiston.
How we keep it safe
A gardener's identity and proof of address are checked before they can quote.
Gardeners check in and out with GPS on each job.
Reviews can only be left for completed bookings.
Payment Protection: the homeowner pays when accepting a quote, GreenHand holds the money, and the gardener is paid once the homeowner confirms the job is done. If the homeowner neither confirms nor raises a dispute within 72 hours of the gardener marking the job complete, the booking may be confirmed automatically and the payment released.
Gardeners are independent service providers, not the homeowner's employees.
